Alot of you remember Killer Instinct Gold right?

I will never forget this game, here is why, yeah I know wow another random made up videogame creepypasta, not this one. There was no curse...No blood....Just an odd situation.

I got the game when I was 10 I believe, It was one of my favorites, when I got it after begging my dad to buy it he finally caved and gave me the game one day after he came home from work. I was beyond excited, I got it from an old local game store called Rhino's Video games.

It was aboout 8pm when i sat down in my room and started playing, I looked through the character selection list... Then I saw him, Saberwulf. he was my all time favorite character, I rampaged through the game, beating all the characters one after another, I was hooked and on a serious winning streak.

Then at about 8:30 I got to the final boss Gargos...(Gargos is a demon lord that now inhabits the physical world. He resembles a large gargoyle and can breathe fire. He is the rival of Eyedol, who appeared in the first Killer Instinct game.)

I started the fight, and time and time again, he would win. I thought nothing of it he was a pretty tough character. I think on the 10th try of fighting, I got him down once, and trying to get the final kill to beat him. After a tough battle I won, the victory music played! I was victorious, and very happy.

So I shut the game off and told my friend about it who also had the game the next day at school, he told me about a cheat code, to unlock Gargos, Reluctantly I asked ok how do I get him?

He said, on the title screen, press the following buttons Z A R Z A B to unlock him I was going to write it down, he said just remember saying it as zarzab and you will remember, So after school, I raced home to try the new code. Excited I get to the title screen and press Z A R Z A B, nothing happened. I probably made a error, So I tried again.

Z A R Z A B, The screen went black and came back to the castle where I fought him, It zoomed to his face and upper torso, the screen was still...After a second he smiled for about 3 seconds...It felt like forever. The screen froze and the music and his laugh looped over and over and a loud humming was coming from the speakers.

I thought the game froze so I collected myself and turned the game off, the image of his face slowly fizzled from the screen to blackness, I turned the game back on and he wasnt there, so I entered the code again...and again...and again, and nothing. The castle never showed up and neither did he I didn't know what was going on with the game. So I turned it off and would tell my friend the next day what happened, see what happened to him.

I told him what I tried it and it didn't work, he looked at me and said the thats weird when I did it he just showed up in the character screen, so later after school, I walked to his house with him and he showed me, Z A R Z A B...An evil laugh he went to the screen, and there he was, up for selection.

I told him, when I did it the screen went black and it was a still of his face, then he smiled at me. The game froze and that was it.

He stared at me, thought I was joking and I just shrugged it off, like maybe it was a bug in my copy. But... To this day sometimes I look at that old cartridge and wonder, why did Gargos smile at me?
