I remember when Pokemon Red and Blue first came out for Nintendo's Gameboy, It seemed that everybody just loved the game, The only annoying thing about the game is that every single time I asked my friends about what they remember from the game, they always said “Lavender Town, man. It's freaking creepy.” I swear to god, everybody keep mentioning Lavender Town, I didn't know what creep out everybody, but I just brushed it off like nothing.

It wasn't until my 12th Birthday when I got my first Gameboy, and it came with 2 Games, Pokemon Red and Blue. I thought Blue was going to be a different game from Red, but when I found out both where mostly the same, I gave it to my sister who years later sold it on eBay. Anyways, I played Pokemon Red, and I was Just amazed at how addicting it was.

Collecting Pokemon and Playing against other players, it was fun. I finally realized that Lavender Town was so memorable because of the music that played and the subplot with Team Rocket and the Marowax was, weird for a game like this. I played the game for years, and never got tired of it, I played at school, at home and pretty much everywhere. I was a fan boy. It wasn't until I turn 15 when I stopped playing Pokemon and played other games, and when I turn 19, I eventually stopped playing video games altogether and started working on my School work at my state college.

When I finish College and returned home, I came back to live there for a bit until I bought a House, I was looking through my old stuff and I found my old Pokemon Red game, I was kind of surprised to see it, I swear to god I sold it a long time ago along with my Gameboy. I was bored so I decided to play it by using my sister's DS. It started up however, the memory was erased, so I decided to just pick another save file sense erased memory was a common problem for old Cartridge games like these.

I picked a new game, the usual intro played but right off the bat, when Professor Oak made his appearance, he looked different, in fact, he looked fucking pissed off, he said his usual dialog, but stopped midway and said “Oh, your back?” it was like it was talking to me, I was freaked out so I turned off the Game and turned it back on.

The game started up normally, I reentered my name, and all that other bullshit and when it finally started, I went straight to the forest to summon Professor Oak and when he came, and grabbed me, the game all of a sudden went to it's usual battle screen, Professor Oak was fighting me? Oak sent Pokemon I didn't even knew he had, like Mewtoo and MISSINGNO. Obviously he defeated me and the game turned off. I was freaked out, so I left the game alone and went to sleep.

The Next day, I got my sister to come into my room and play the game with me, we started playing the game and it ran normally, everything was okay. I went to Oak's Lab and got Pikachu for some reason, I didn't know why Pikachu was in Oak's Lab, my sister said it was probably a glitch. Soon my sister left and that's when things started to get fucked up again, soon Gary got his usual Pokemon and started to battle me, but when I was about to finish his Pokemon, Oak intervene and told Gary to let him take the battle on from here. He throw out MISSINGNO. And ordered it to attack Pikachu.

When Pikachu is knocked out, instead of having Gary be a cocky asshole, It instead said, “Why did you leave us?” The game went back to normal, but I was shocked, My sister came back in and I just went insane, telling her all about it. She looked at me like I was crazy, she grabbed the DS and told me she'll stay by me and try to see whats happening.

Soon the game started to act like Pokemon Yellow, in which Pikachu denies to stay in his Pokeball and wants to explore outside it. My sister said it was “Really Fucking Weird” and decided to pay close attention. I decided to give my sister the game and I went to look up on the internet about what was occurring. All I could find are Lavender Town creepypastas and other things, the one that came closest to what was happening was Pokemon Dead Channel, I read it and was wondering if it was happening to me. My sister told me I should check something out, Apparently, since we left Oak's lab, Pikachu kept saying, “go to Lavender Town.” I wondered why, but then I remember, in all the other Creepypastas, all the weird things in a Pokemon game usually surrounds around Lavender Town.

I told my sister to head to it to try to find answers. When they got to Lavender Town, we see that, suddenly, everything was okay. I thought something bad was going to happen, but nothing did happened. Pikachu then said that “Lavender Town isn't as it looks.”

We decided to explore Lavender Town and completed the Team Rocket subplot. The game popped up a screen that said “Life and Death may occur here, people grieve and cry here, but always leave looking upon the future with hope and live there lives fully. They move on, and spend there lives.” After reading that, we decided to leave and complete the game. Nothing bad happened, at all, the game acted normally.

After months after the incident, me and my sister still watch over the game making sure nothing bad happened. Soon we reached the final gym and started fighting the final gym leader, as we defeated him, I started to feel, better. My sister's boyfriend picked her up and I was alone in my house, I was going to go to my girlfriend's house until the game started to act horribly. A high pitch scream came from the screen and partially made me fall to the floor.

I picked up the game to see it looked like hell, all I could see on the screen is people saying, "Why did you leave us.”

I remembered that Lavender Town saved me once and decided to use my Pidgeotto to fly back to Lavender Town. When I appeared there, the screen popped up a message that said.

“I can't harm you here, Go ahead and leave us.”

After the message left, I found out why he can't harm me. I came up to Gary and talked to him. He had two options for a conversation, one about Dead Pokemon, and another about why It won't enter Lavender Town. Gary says “It's because everything here is holy. That Lavender Town (despite it's appearance) is a place where people Pray and burying there Pokemon.

Holy marks are presented here, that's why It won't come here. Lavender Town isn't a town about Death and Ghosts, that's not what Nintendo intended, it's a Town of Life and Moving On. The Music that plays and Team Rocket's story is what throws people off. Remember this James, talk to it, and it will leave.” I was shocked that Gary knows my real name, the Pokemon Trainer is named Red yet he referred directly to me.

I decided to leave Lavender Town, just as I left, a Demonic looking Professor Oak appeared at the exit, looking angry as hell. I went up to him and asked “Why do you haunt me?” Soon the battle mode occurred and I was fighting Oak, this time, I had the upper hand, having both a Level 105 Mew and fully evolved Pokemon. I defeated Oak's Pokemon quickly. Soon Oak appeared on the floor, crying, he states:

“Why did you leave us, James? I thought we'd be friends forever. We would have never left you.”

The game took me to the screen used to type in names. I used it instead to talk to the game.

I typed “Because, I grew up, I didn't have time to play video games, I was too busy trying to build a life for myself and trying to get an education. I couldn't keep playing you, I want to have a wife and have kids, not playing a Nintendo game all my life. I'm sorry, but people grow up and now, it's time for you to grow up.”

Oak looked sad, he then said “Very well then.” and says goodbye, one last time.

The game then turned off, I took the cartridge out and started to unscrew the game and I saw an inverted cross in the cartridge, and a right side up cross. I decided to replace the game's casing with that of Pokemon Blue and sealed it back up. I took it to my sister's boyfriend's house handed it, along with the DS, to his little brother. I told him “Make sure you play it everyday, okay?”

The brother says okay as well. I turned to my sister and told her all about what happened when she left, she asked me if it will happen again to her boyfriend's brother. I told her “It won't, it understands now. It won't happen again.”
