So I have been writing some pasta and I'd love it if you guys gave your opinions on this sample from one I've been working on.
"My name is Sam and I’m 19 years old. I live in a small town, in the basement of a small shop. I suppose you could call me a nobody because in all honesty, that’s what I am. I suffer from social anxiety and due to this I have very little friends and have never had a girlfriend. Not that this bothers me. I am currently unemployed and I spend most of my days alone, playing Borderlands or listening to some of my favourite bands, Nine Inch Nails being a personal favourite. But I dread every night, and there’s a valid reason for that. I suffer from very intense and disturbing nightmares. Ever since I was little I’ve had them and unlike most children, I never really grew out of it. I would see manifestations of my inner fears, mostly of my loneliness and depression. But lately they have been getting much worse. I’ve tried everything from herbal tea to therapy and the outcome is always the same. “We’re sorry but we just can’t help you”. Last night I had a dream that I was being stalked by a man in a hooded outfit. I was alone in my room and he slowly walked in. It was from a third person perspective and I was asleep. There was nothing I could do about it. Slowly he walked up to me, revealing a large butcher’s knife. He raised his arm and at the moment he made contact with my tender, vulnerable neck, I awoke and I swear hand on heart that I saw him stood at my doorway when I was awake. It was for a split second, but I saw him. I decided to search it online and I found a thread that mentioned ‘Bleedthroughs’. Upon further searches I discovered that a bleedthrough is when your dreams collide with your reality. It’s all very trivial, and I’ve never been one to believe in the supernatural but it seems to make sense. Later on today I went to the shop to get some cereal and I saw the man stood across the road. My vision began to blur and I felt nauseous. All I could make out of his face was a sadistic grin."
