Final Update: Congratulations to BlackPersephone for winning the contest/spotlight. Thanks to everyone that contributed.
UPDATE: For fairness, we have decided to put up a poll to decide the winner of the contest/spotlighted pasta. There is an admin in the contest, and it doesn't feel right to disqualify them which we would have to do if the admins were to pick the winner. And please, don't mess with the polls. If we see anything that looks suspicious we'll wipe it out and put Fifty Shades of Grey as the spotlight. But seriously, vote once and don't recruit anyone. Looking at the users that entered I don't think it will be a problem, but I have to mention it. Keep in mind that we have caught people several times. Good luck to everyone th…Read more >
Hello fellow Wikians! I've just finished exams and have found some free time on my hands (to those I promised reviews, I'll get to those in the near future). In the midst of college life and some writing projects, I pondered the idea of hosting a writing contest here. As Shadowswimmer's contest just ended, and I've seen a few users asking if there were any contests coming up, I thought I might try hosting one.
I've always wanted to do something... Lovecraftian. Indescribable horrors, ancient beings of horrific power, non-Euclidean geometry, and tentacled monsters from Xoth intrigue the hell out of me. I've got some prizes lined up in mind (well, one really), but I'm curious if the community is interested at all.
This isn't a formal prop…Read more >
So I've been on a bit of a hiatus, and I can see that a lot has changed on the wiki since I left. I want to get back into reviewing stories and sharpen my literary skills so my offer is simple: if you've got a relatively new story or one with little feedback, leave a comment, and I'll try and submit a review in a relatively timely fashion. I generally focus on story aspects, so if you've got something in the workshop or on the wiki, leave a comment and I'll let you know if I can review it.Read more >
So I kind of wanted to try something different with regards to storytelling. I thought a Choose Your Own Adventure style story would be something really neat to try in creepypasta form. It's fairly childish, but i remember enjoying those books a lot when I was younger (the Goosebumps ones in particular where you could die in some really messed up ways; I don't think anything on this site has scared me more than the idea of a robotic T-Rex dunking you in a tar pit or some old lady drugging you and cutting off your knees) so I figure it might be worth a shot. I searched for existing CYOA creepypastas, but the ones I found were all fairly terrible. I think this is a good opportunity to inject some quality literature into the genre. Is th…Read more >
Greetings, fellow writers. I recently posted a story, There's Something Between the Gears, that I would very much like some feedback on (it's a medium sized story centering around cult worship and industrialized horror). I know how this wiki works, and obviously, many of you wouldn't read and review such a story simply because I asked you to. So I thought I could sweeten the deal a bit. If you've got an obscure, relatively unknown, or even well known story (that'd you'd like nitpicked to death), then I'd be willing to critique it in exchange for a critique of your own on my story.
If you've never seen me on the WW, then you should know that I go into a fair amount of depth when discussing the actual plot of a story, and will probably wri…Read more >
