Ok, I feel like I really should start work on my spin-off of In the Circle, and I've actually gotten an inkling of second spin-off, and a way to tie a creepypasta I thought of independently into it.  But, I'm concerned about the ending.  I have two in mind, and I'm not sure which is best.  And, while I'm still not completely satisfied with the original, and hope to be able to do some more work to improve it, I certainly don't want to degrade it with a cop-out follow-up.

I don't want to give away too much, but the bulk of the story will be the same either way.  But, one ending is the standard "at some point in the relatively near future I'm going to die," while the other is a subversion of that.  The problem I have with the subversion, though, is that it risks turning an attempt at fear into a psychological drama/soap opera.

Has anyone else ever had a problem like that?
