How's it going, fellow creeps? I just wanted to remind everyone to vote for the Pasta of the Month...polls are open now!  I'd like to take the opportunity to promote my own story that's up for the title The Wicker House.  I think it's pretty good and apparently HumboldtLycanthrope thought so too since he nominated it...hopefully you'll read it and agree with us!  Either way, I'd ask for constructive feedback, and of course encourage everyone to vote for the pasta they feel truly deserves the recognition.  Thanks for reading!

So, this past weekend I finally managed to finish my story The Soldier.  It's been a long time in coming.  As I mentioned in a previous blog post I actually started writing this thing over four years ago before pulling it out and dusting it off this past summer.  I'm actually pretty proud of it.  Flying in the face of everything that anyone who knows anything about writing says, I didn't do a whole lot of story planning.

Now normally this wouldn't be too much of an issue.  I could write something, then go back and change it as necessary if I didn't like how something was turning out or found myself written into an inescapable corner.  However, I published the first five sections of the story before the rest of it was completely done.  I had…

Ok, so as the title suggests I have both good and bad news to report.  The good news is that The Soldier: Part 6 is now revised and posted here for any of you following along!

The bad news is that I am currently in the process of moving across the country.  I mean this in a very literal sense.  That means that I am going to be somewhat disconnected and it will be a little while before I get part 7 up.  The plus side of this is that I will have plenty of time to make sure it is good and polished for your consumption.  Happy writing!

There's an idea I have with regard to my writing on this site; create multiple stand-alone stories that are loosely interconnected, take place within the same universe, and will ultimately combine to outline the shape of a much larger narrative (and no I have no idea how long this will take to do.  Other than a while.  Quite a while.)  My intent is to touch on many of the classic horror tropes and give them my own spin while finding common ground to work them into one encompassing story.

I can't say it is an original idea, but as no parallel examples come to mind,  I can't be certain it isn't either.  Really the closest thing I can think of is the Diskworld series but, as far as I know (I'm not super well read on those) they merely share s…

If anyone is interested, my second story Lights is up!  Also be sure to check out The Wicker House if you haven't already.

As for future works I have a few skeletons of ideas that need a good deal of fleshing out but am hoping I can continue to build this overarching story that I have in mind....like I said in my first blog post, for me the devil is in the details, so I want to be sure everything works before I offer it for consumption at large.

Personally I have loved horror from an extremely early age.  Although its actually a comedy, probably my first introduction to the supernatural was when I started watching the Real Ghostbusters cartoon at age 3....I think I ultimately owned all but about 10 pieces of that toy line.

    I consider myself…
