Hello my many minions,
Today's topic is about "Music Theory". It's essentially the backbone of all music and it's performance. Chords? That's theory. Those goddamned modes that make you want to blow your brains out? That's theory as well. Every aspect of music performance and composition is governed by music theory.
That being said. TODAY'S MUSIC USES NONE OF IT! Erm, I shouldn't say "none" but there is no advanced, intelligent music theory that goes into writing music nowadays. Do you all know how hard I have to look for a mainstream song that ISN'T in 4/4 time? It's infuriating! How someone can put "4/4" in front of the staff (theory terms) and then let a computer do the rest of the work... and get paid for it? It's inexcusable. I place blame on both the performers AND the record labels.
That is all.
P.S. Anyone want to take a shot at what genre uses the most music theory (overall)?
