I created this blog entry because I mention in my about me section that my story The Night I Chose to Remember is based on true events. While this is true, I stumbled across some information that may explain a part of that story and bring peace to not only me, but those I may have scared with it:

During REM sleep sleep the body paralyzes itself as a protection mechanism to prevent the movements that occur in the dream from causing the physical body to move. However, this mechanism can be triggered, before, during, or after normal sleep while the brain awakens. This can lead to a state where the awakened sleeper feels paralyzed. Hypnagogic hallucination may occur in this state, especially auditory ones.

My guess is that I was asleep and somehow woke up improperly, causing the paralysis that felt like being forced still. Paralysis is a much more accurate description of that night, still, good story ey?

On a related note, I'm looking into a story related to lucid dreaming. That's where I got that information from and I just thought it was worth sharing that I solved a mysterious event in my life thanks to creepypasta! Anyways, the idea of lucid dreaming is that of us being able to control our dreams. I know it's not original, but I'm gonna do a quick one about getting stuck in our dreams, cause that's always good going to bed too right? Just feel like showing something along the lines of Mal Cobb's inner thoughts or something like the Tulpa labrat. We'll see what I do, but I guarantee, it'll be a nightmare...
