Okay, the names have been cast, here are the Judges! Went with a 6th judge just to have the extra set of eyes. Keep in mind, if this contest doesn't happen, your offers are very appreciated. However, unless the voting dramatically shifts, we should be good to see this happen in October.
Okay folks, Banning here once again, with the latest and greatest update on the ever controversial Jeff the Killer re-write contest. I say this so much that I am starting to feel like a broken record, but, nothing is green-lit yet. There are still several days left on the voting poll to see if the contest is even going to happen. If you haven't cast your vote yet, please feel free to here: Jeff Contest Poll.
There is a lot of back and forth on this issue, but viewing the current voting trends, there is a good chance that this will come to pass. With that said, I would like to start getting ducks in a row, so that if this project does go forward, we can have a smooth transition with all the logistics lined up.
With that said, we need judges. We're looking for at least three, but an ideal number would be about five. I intend to enter the contest, so I obviously will not be judging anything.
Judges should be rather active users who have no desire to enter the contest themselves. I would like to have at least one admin or b'crat on board, but that is up to them. Judges will review the stories and decide among themselves which one, or ones, (there may be multiple winners) go on the site.
We will also likely open a standard voting pool as well. Sort of a combined effort between the selected judges and the community as a whole. In the event of ties, the community vote will be largely considered in such matters.
So, we've all sat here and judged the hell out of Jeff time and time again, now let's do it one more time, for the good of finally seeing a quality story without all the clichés and things of bleach.
Interested judges should respond here on this blog. It is first come first serve, so the first five volunteers will have the job. Thank you for your interest and continued support of our community.
