So, my company puts on a yearly employee talent show. Of course, I am sure that it's awful, seeing management get up on stage to sing and dance and tell jokes. However, I was asked by one of the HR managers if I had any talents for the show.
All I could think of was the fact that I like to write these short little creepy stories. So, she asked if I could write a short story about our business and read it at the show.
Honestly, it shouldn't be hard. I work at a French Quarter hotel that is listed online as one of the most haunted buildings in the city. I am thinking about going with a short story about not turning around on certain floors if you hear your name called at night. I will leave what does happen vague, but will imply that a new job opening tends to appear the next day when people do tend to look back and see who was calling out to them.
If the story goes well and hasn't been done here already, I may write a short pasta about it.
If anyone has any suggestions about how I could improve on this idea, or may even have a better short, haunted hotel idea, please respond.
Remember, this is for a corporate function, so I have to keep the morbid factor low, and gore factor at a zero and pretty much just come up with something that is spooky but not over the top disturbing.
