Imagine you write an horror story. It takes a lot of time, you put your best ideas in it, you check if there are still some mistakes and when you are ready, you publish it.
Few minutes pass, you refresh the page to see if you have some positive comments but instead, you have this generic page telling you that your story has been deleted for not matching the site's "quality standards"
You contact the admin who deleted your story, to ask what was wrong. There are few options:
-there was one insignificant mistake no one else noticed (even if you put your story on the "writer's workshop" where people help you to spot the mistakes)
-a virgule was misplaced
-your premise isn't 100% original (you wanted to write a story about a dog? Too bad, there is already one on the site)
-fuck you
What to do now? If your story has been deleted for mistakes, you have a tiny chance to get it back by posting a "deletion appeal" with a revised copy here: http://creepypasta.wikia.com/wiki/Creepypasta_Wiki:Deletion_Appeal
As you can see, all appeals (on this date) were denied.
But there is worse!
You revised your copy, spotted few mistakes, corrected them,... Then you ask for help on the workshop.
One moderator says "No mistake spotted, you are good to go. Good story btw"
You make a deletion appeal with a link to your new version and....
Immediately denied with no reason given.
Probably one admin didn't like your story, it might be perfectly written but you know, he recently lost his job, got dumped, was drunk... so he takes revenge by denying your appeal because he simply can (the site warns the users: "Admins are not obligated to give a reason for overturning an appeal")
Now, if your story isn't 100% original, you have no chance to get it back. They will ask you to improve your story and when it's done, your deletion appeal will be denied.
One of my stories has been deleted because there already was a story with a scarecrow. The stories were completely different, but the main theme, the scarecrow, was "déjà vu".
But you are a good writer, you bypass all this shit: no mistake, 100% original premise,...
Your story is accepted, you get good reviews from the users.
Weeks pass and... your story has been deleted.
You (reasonably) wonder "what the fuck is wrong this time?" and contact the admin who deleted your story.
His reason is "your story didn't match our quality standards anymore"
Now you begin to wonder "Are they fucking with me? Is this their little joy to delete stories that took time to be written?".
But you did not see everything.
After some researches, you find some really crappy stories that have been accepted on the site and are still there, like these:
http://creepypasta.wikia.com/wiki/WHO_WAS_PHONE%3F
http://creepypasta.wikia.com/wiki/TEH_DAY_OF_ALL_TEH_BLOD
http://creepypasta.wikia.com/wiki/Hyper-Realistic
http://creepypasta.wikia.com/wiki/AND_THEN_A_SKELETON_POPPED_OUT
What's next? Well, you can tell these condescending pricks to shove their "quality standards" up their ass (side way of course) and go on some other creepypasta site that will recognize your true talent.
