It started on your 11th birthday. As you were about to blow the candles on your cake, you saw a shadow in the corner. It was looking at you, but no one else noticed. You blew out the candles, only to find it gone.
Two years later, you began the 8th grade. You kissed your mom goodbye and walked towards the schoolyard. As you were about to wave to your friends, an unspeakable fear rose with every step. Mechanically, you turned your head around and saw the same person again. Just as you were about to call someone for help, the fear was gone, as well as the person.
Ten years later, you were in college. You had a girlfriend, and you were the star of the basketball team. You had won several championships and careers are bombshelling you to sign up.
And it was also the day the Thing entered your house.
A dream squeezed through your mind. It was horrifying. You were at your old middle school from ten years ago, when you were 13. You saw the Thing, but you did not cry for help. Instead, you walked towards it. NO,NO,NO! Don't do it!, you yelled, to no avail; sound did not exist. And as you got closer, you saw it. The Thing.
It was a horrifying sight to behold. You saw its rusty hair filled with cobwebs, drooping down to shoulder length. Its eyes were just empty, gaping, black sockets. Even though you were not near it, you could smell its nasty odor. Death had the strongest smell, even in dreams. Finally, you looked up.
The Thing smiled, and everything turned black.
Now here you are downstairs, huddling against the couch, staring at the TV. The Thing is still upstairs, smiling its grotesque smile; its gnarled, decaying hands are at its sides. Eventually, you decide to turn on the light, with a knife in hand, and fight it head on.
The police arrive three days later, to find a mutilated body with a knife, and blood everywhere. Both of your eyes had been gouged out, leaving hollowed sockets in their place. Your limbs had been scattered everywhere, and the police take you away.
Two years before, you had killed your mother for unknown reasons. You stabbed her brutally and mutilated her arms and her legs. You gouged her eyes her eyes out, leaving gaping holes, while she was screaming. A cabinet fell on its hinges and cobwebs matted her dead corpse.
Before you were horribly killed, you had seen one last thing.
You saw your mother laughing at you.
