The Man in My Nightmares

Nightmares. We all experience them, and some of us never escape their fear-inducing grasp. But nobody has ever had the nightmares I've had. Ones that make me nervous to fall asleep, but never want to awake when I do.
It all started when I watched an odd video my friend found a long time ago. He forgot about it until he was doing some cleaning in his attic when he found this flash drive. It was called "Night.wmv". I watched it curiously, and it featured a man who was a Detective, in a black trench coat, who was solving a crime. When he found the killer, the presumed killer was a dark, tall... thing, who was tall and had red, glowing eyes. My friend told me not to show this to anyone but myself and him, and I kept that promise even to this day.
When I went to bed that night, I fell fast asleep, but in my dream, the dark, tall killer from the film was there, in front of me. Speaking to me. I couldn't hear him, it was disoriented, and hard to hear. I woke up, in a shocked state, and it was 5:30 a.m. I usually got up at 7:00, but I was far too afraid to fall back asleep.
The rest of my day was pretty normal, I went to work, got a promotion, even, and everything was perfect and normal. Until that night, when a Angel with black wings came down and told me, "He protects the sinners, and reaps the innocent by trapping them in their sleep."
I tried to talk to this angel, but she kept repeating the same words, again and again, until they faded out and i awoke again. This time it was 8:10 when I woke up, and it was my day off, so I headed over to my friend's house and told him everything that happened.
He stared at me for a good long while, and then said, "This happened to me, too. But you must resist him." Then he told me to leave. He wouldn't re-send me the film so I could re-see it, but I didn't want to anyway.
The next few nights were usually either the black man who spoke oddly, or the Angel repeating the same speech again and again. I knew at some point I would go crazy due to it, so I sought help from a psychiatrist. He told me that It was probably stress from either work or the film he saw, and advised lots of rest. So I did just that.
In my nap dream, the dark man talked to me.
He said, "Join me... in eternal peace... forever..."
I tried to ask him his name, and he responded, "I... am... Darkness..." The Dark Man spoke. I then woke up, more frightened than ever.
The next nights I didn't sleep, for fear of the Nightmare with the Dark Man. I was extremely tired, and I was starting to see things. I decided to go to sleep one last time. This time, I would try to stop him from doing this. I fell asleep quickly, and I saw him. He was right in front of me.
He asked me, "Do you like what I've done?" I shook my head in disagreement, and asked him to stop terrorizing me.
The Dark Man then spoke, "But... I've worked so hard on this. I've done all this for you. I thought you liked me." I asked him where he would get such an idea, and he said, "You keep coming to me. You never stop. I was worried when you stopped..."
The Dark Man said. I realized he might be lonely, so I patted his back, and said, "It's okay. I know what it's like to be alone."
Me and the Dark Man had good conversations for 1 hour, until he asked me, "Do you like it here?"
"It's better then I thought, actually." I responded.
"Why not stay... forever?" The Dark Man spoke. I felt a bit awkward, but right before I said yes, the Dark Angel came down and warned me not to.
"He only wishes to kill you. He may seem nice, but you will regret it!" The Angel yells.
"Who are you going to trust, me, or this little fairy?" The Dark Man says.
I thought it over for quite a while, but I told the Dark Man, "I like you, Dark Man, but you are a killer. I can't trust you, and I want you to please stop haunting me." I say.
The Dark Man looked at me with a shocked look. "You thought I was... haunting you?" The Dark Man said. I was honestly confused when he said that.
"I only wished the best of you... and you say I was HAUNTING YOU?" The Dark Man grew into a Dark Monster, and the Angel motioned me to follow her. I did so, as the Dark Monster was chasing us down a seemingly endless road.
We were both cornered. The Dark Monster was about to kill us, and I was bracing for impact, but then... I woke up. Everything was normal, and the rest of the day was normal. I never saw the Dark Man, the Angel, or the Monster form of the Dark Man ever again. I was sort of glad, but I was still curious.
Even to this day, I never saw any trace of the film or the Flash Drive, for my friend moved with the Flash Drive, and didn't tell me where. I never found another copy of the flash drive, for all I know my friend made the film. I never found out who the Dark Man or the Angel were, but I didn't really care. All I cared about was that my nightmares were finally done with.
