Part 1: Out From The Shadows

A man was walking down the street on his way home from work when he caught a fleeting glimpse of something out of the corner of his eye.

Because he didn't believe in the paranormal, he simply ignored it and continued his long walk home.

When the familiar house finally came into view, he sighed in relief. It had been a very long day, and he was very eager to get home.

However, the man once again caught a shadow in the corner of his eye once more, but this time more clear; it looked like it had a walking cane. Disregarding it once more, he continued on his walk home, not aware of the being that was following him.

When the man reached the front door, he heard a creaking noise behind him. He spun around and said "Who's there?" in a light and quiet voice; not wanting to wake up his neighbors.

The man once more ignored the noise and opened the front door, not knowing what was behind him - what was lurking; waiting to strike.

When the man unpacked his things, he noticed his briefcase had two claw marks on the front side.

"That's strange, that wasn't there before." the man wondered as he changed into his nighttime clothes. He wondered only for a brief moment what could've been in the corner of his eye.

"That's ridiculous! Nothing was following me," the man reassured himself as he got ready for bed that fateful night - not knowing what would become of him...

Part 2: The Last Dream

As the man fell into a very deep sleep, perhaps his very last, the beast came out of his closet and crept ever so closer to him, tiptoeing to prevent noise as it got ready to strike. The man started to stir in his sleep, but he was a deep sleeper and the monster was very stealthy.

When it got closer to him, it raised its claw as if it were aiming for the kill. But right before it could carry out its evil order, the man snapped awake and blurted out this very phrase:

"HOLY SWEET JESUS, WHAT ARE YOU?!"

"I am a being of shadows, sent to kill deep sleepers for pure enjoyment." said the creature.

"SENT BY WHO?!" yelled the man.

"That's for me to know, and for you to never find out," said the sinister force, as it clamped the man's mouth shut to prevent further screaming.

"Goodbye, CREATOROFWIKIA!" said the monster. As it said that, it rammed its claw into the man's heart, killing him instantly.

It ran into the night, knowing that it will soon find its next victim:
