Jimmy stared down at the body on the table. The insides glistened, not just red, but many shades of brown, gray and even blue. Fluids pattered gently on the floor, but the flow was slowing to a trickle. The body had stopped moving some time back.
"Jimmy! What on earth are you doing?"
Jimmy shivered and looked over his shoulder. "I just wanted to see if she was like me..."
"Well, now you can tell that she isn't."
Jimmy's father laid a claw companionably on his son's carapace.
