In Salem, Oregon there was a quiet family of four. Both parents worked full-time, so the son and daughter spent most of their time alone. Sarah, age 7, was a brilliant girl who spent much of her time in the attic. Since Jack, her younger brother, was much too small to climb up the ladder, he never understood what she did up there.

One day, jack became overwhelmed with curiosity and asked, "Sarah, what do you do in the attic all day?" Sarah's eyes grew wide and she became very angry. Then all of a sudden jack began to run. He was almost out of the house when he felt a sharp pain his toes. He looked down, and saw his toenails had disappeared. Blood began rushing through his feet and out through where his toenails used to be.

Scared, confused, and in pain, he ran to find Sarah. He dashed up the stairs to her room. As he neared her room, he could hear her making weird noises. He couldn't tell if it was laughing or screaming, but he entered anyway.

His heart stopped when he saw Sarah crunching on his toenails, a wide grin across her face as she screamed even louder. He stood there paralyzed as Sarah walked over to him, smiling. She rubbed his head softly, toenails pouring out of her mouth, Still paralyzed, little Jack watched as his older sister climbed up into the attic.

Thankfully, he heard his parents coming home from work, and ran to them. "Go get Sarah from the attic!" His father simply smiled softly, before shooting himself in the temple. His body hit the ground as he lay there dead, still smiling. Jack screamed as he tried to patch his fathers brain back together.

His mother stood there as she stared at jack. She knelt down and covered his mouth before forcefully carrying him upstairs.

She whispered, "Everything will be fine, its time for bed".

Jack became even more terrified, seeing as it was only noon. Then the thought occurred to him, why did his parenst come home so early? All of this confused him, but what confused him the most is that his mother walked past his bedroom door and towards the attic entrance. He tried to scream, but his mother's hand was closed too tightly on his mouth.

She slowly walked up the steps, Jack still attempting to scream, but to no avail. He saw Sarah standing there, smiling.

"Oh, so you've brought a new one, mother?"

His mother laughed as she continued walking dow the dark corridor. At the end, was a room filled with all of Jack's old schoolmates and his father, roped up and bloodied, lying on the floor. They were all still alive, barely breathing, but for some reason all of them smiling.

"Where should we place him, Master?" asked the mother.

"Oh, throw him in the furnace!", Sarah replied, laughing.

Jack closed his eyes as he felt himself burn to death in the steel inferno, as he saw his mother and his sister smiling at him.
