In case you didn't get the memo, we don't accept characters "inspired" by Jeff The Killer anymore. You know the setup (which I shall call the "Jeff Formula"): someone (usually a kid or teenager) is bullied or has something tragic happen to him/her, goes insane, mutilates themselves, may or may not get super powers (super strength, immunity to pain, indestructability, super speed, telekinesis, pyrokinesis, teleportation, invisibility, X-ray vision, ability to bring inanimate objects to life, superhuman jumping and/or acrobatic abilities, super senses, flight, ability to control elements, ESP, shapeshifting, necromancy, Wolverine-like regeneration, etc.) and goes on an unstoppable killing spree. It's been done to death, it's not scary, it's lazy writing, it's a springboard for Mary Sues, and it STOPS NOW. From now on, such characters count as Jeff spinoffs and the writers of such stories punished accordingly; a warning on their talk page, and a one-day ban if they do it again or repost it.

If you really must write such a story, post it offsite like on DeviantART or Pastebin and link to it on your userpage or Talk page, or use Spinoff Appeal. There's also a whole category for such stories on Spinpasta Wiki.

EDIT: Here's the link to the original Jeff story, in case your memory needs refreshing. I've been reluctant to add the link because the story's...not very good. Plus people might argue "my story's not a complete carbon copy of Jeff, therefore it doesn't count!" Tough shit pal, if it follows the "Jeff Formula" it DOES count.

ADDENDUM: No Mary Sues or Gary Stus in general, either. We're sick of overpowered OCs, and not just ones based on Jeff. Unless your character is a deity or something, there's no reason to make them so overpowered.

ADDENDUM 2: Yes, now it counts as a Jeff knockoff if they were crazy to begin with don't mutilate themselves, and/or have no superpowers, too, as long as it follows the aforementioned "Jeff Formula" (person is wronged or becomes jealous, becomes serial killer.)

ADDENDUM 3: Blatantly Jeff-like entities are also banned. You have no idea how often I've encountered a monster that looks and behaves EXACTLY like Jeff in a story and the author tries to rationalize it by saying "but he has claws, it doesn't count!" BUH.

Oh, and one more thing. No one's stopping you from actually WRITING Jeff-inspired stories. You can still post them to Spinpasta Wiki or use Deletion Appeal to get yours approved and added to the wiki. This rule was put in place because before it was enacted, the wiki was being overloaded with really shitty Jeff OCs and absolutely blatant Jeff knockoffs.
