"I love you my baby.
Though I'm too young to be a mommy,
I'm glad that you are by my side right now.
I love you so much."
Aren't babies the sweetest things? They may cry a lot and keep you up all night, but to see them smile will make your heart melt. But what if you suddenly see that your bundle of joy isn't breathing and as if she's a rotting corpse?
It has been a month since I gave birth to my little angel. She slept most of the day, and stays awake at night. It didn't bother if I change my body clock, mothers have to do lots of sacrifices you know. One night, we had to sleep on the couch. We don't have a room yet so we used to sleep in the living room. Every night, my mom would turn on the air conditioner. Babies have sensitive skin, so we had to sleep on the leather couch. That time, my baby was sleeping soundly. I decided to turn off the main lights and just turn on the lamp shade. I went back and lay down by her side and slept.
Later on, I woke up to check on her. I used my cellphone to lighten up her face to see if she's awake. I was shocked with what I was seeing. Her eyes were still shut, but her skin was different! My baby's skin was blue and looked like she was decomposing! I looked at her tummy and chest to see if she was still breathing. She wasn't anymore! I did not know what to do. I tried to look again because maybe my eyes were playing tricks on me, but it never changed back. I was so scared! I was so worried that I might have squished her while I was sleeping. But it was impossible! I wasn't lying on my back, I was lying on my side so she would have a lot of space and I would be able to see her quickly. I wanted to cry! I couldn't believe I was seeing that with my own eyes! I ran towards the light switch and turned it on. To my relief, she was still sleeping soundly, and not even a splot of her skin was blue or decomposing. She was still breathing too. I wasn't able to sleep that night. I was just watching her until she woke up.
But that was not the last time it happened to her. It was not me who saw it; it was my mom. It happened to her twice! We just woke up because she was screaming. She told me that she, too, also saw my baby with blue decomposing skin and wasn't breathing.
After two months, my baby was baptized. And it never happened again.
