Atuk is an unproduced screenplay written by Tod Carroll. It is an adaption of the 1963 novel The Incomparable Atuk by Mordecai Richler about an Inuit hunter who tries to live in New York city, and has elements of racism, materialism and pop culture.
The script has been around since the 1970s and many Hollywood film studios have been interested in producing the film, but are now terrified of its very existence. Why, you ask? Because of an alleged curse that has killed all the actors who have shown interest in the lead role. Don't believe me? Here are the victims:

- Phil Hartman: Farley's friend and former Saturday Night Live cast-mate. Although he was only encouraged for a supporting role, his wife committed murder-suicide by shooting him in bed before shooting herself.
There we go, 6 victims. Even if the movie was successfully made, it might have bombed at the box office and/or become panned by critics. In July 2001, the original author of the novel died at age 70. But where is that accursed screenplay today? It's stuck in development hell, where it belongs somewhere in the archives of the United Artists production company. But I must warn you, if you ever get to be in one of their movies, don't be in this one! (James Bond is much safer!)
